DUBLIN, IRELAND – 22 June 2017 – Rubicon Infrastructure Advisors (“Rubicon”) is pleased to announce that it acted as the M&A sell-side advisor to Iridium Concesiones de Infraestructuras S.A. (“Iridium”) in the successful sale of a portfolio of operating healthcare assets to Mirova, a French based asset management company wholly-owned by Natixis Asset Management (“Mirova”). The healthcare facilities are located on the Balearic Islands, Spain and provide an essential service to over 1.2 million people on the Islands. While Iridium has sold a significant equity interest in the portfolio, it will retain day to day operating control and management of the healthcare assets, reaffirming its long-term commitment to the Spanish healthcare sector and its public sector counterparty.
The portfolio consists of two hospitals and the operator of one of the hospitals, all providing non-clinical health services. The healthcare facilities are regulated under long-term concession contracts with the Regional Government of the Balearic Islands (rated BBB-/ Positive from S&P).
“We are very pleased to have assisted in a second portfolio sale for Iridium”, said Carmen Lopez who led the deal team for Rubicon. “These assets provide an essential service to the people of the Balearic Islands. It was critically important to Iridium, Mirova and the Regional Government of the Balearic Islands that the sale process was seamless and ensured the continuance of the high level of service that has been provided to-date by the Iridium-led management team”.
