Rubicon Infrastructure Advisors (“Rubicon”) is pleased to announce the successful sale of Hospital del Tajo, S.A. and associated facility management operating company, Explotadora del Hospital del Tajo, S.L. (the “Project”) to Quaero European Infrastructure Fund, an infrastructure fund managed by Quaero Capital (“Quaero”). Rubicon acted as the sole and exclusive M&A sell-side advisor to the equity owners of the Project, Assignia Infraestructuras, S.A. (“Assignia”), Instalaciones Inabensa, S.A. (“Inabensa”) a subsidiary of Abengoa and Sando Concesiones, S.L. (“Sando”).
Hospital del Tajo, which has been in operation since 2007, provides clinical services to over 70,000 people from the municipalities of Aranjuez, Colmenar de Oreja, Chinchon, Valdelaguna and Villaconejos and is the only large health care facility in the municipality of Aranjuez (58,000 inhabitants).The hospital is part of the New Public Health Infrastructure Plan (2004-07), which was launched by the Region of Madrid in 2004. The hospital’s clinical services are provided directly by the Region of Madrid and are not included in the perimeter of the transaction.
