Rubicon Infrastructure Advisors (“Rubicon”) is pleased to announce the opening of its New York office and appointment of Ms. Maria Kang to its New York office and Mr. Ahmed Memon to its Dublin office.
Catering for its North American clientele, Rubicon’s New York representative office will market a broad range of financial advisory services, including M&A, capital raising, restructuring and recapitalization services to both industrial and financial sponsors within the infrastructure sector. Rubicon’s management team has collectively over 50 years’ experience in the U.S. infrastructure and finance industry and has worked on some of the most innovative financing solutions in the North American infrastructure market.
Ms. Kang joins Rubicon as a Managing Director in its investor client coverage group and has 20 years combined experience in the financial services industry in corporate finance, structured finance and as an infrastructure and project finance banker. Ms. Kang joins Rubicon from Scotia Capital where she was Managing Director within its Global Infrastructure team and was responsible for advising on equity investment opportunities in the infrastructure sector globally as well as working on North American PPP transactions as advisor and lender. Prior to joining Scotia Capital, Ms. Kang worked with DEPFA Bank’s Infrastructure Finance Unit as a financial advisor and senior debt provider for projects in both the U.S. and Canada. Prior to DEPFA, Ms. Kang worked at MBIA Insurance Corp. and Capital Markets Assurance Corporation where she was responsible for business origination, credit analysis and execution of structured financings. Ms. Kang earned a Bachelor of Arts at Wellesley College and a Masters in Business Administration at New York University’s Leonard N. Stern School of Business.
Mr. Memon joins Rubicon as Associate Director from Deloitte where he held a position as Corporate Finance Manager where he provided financial advisory services on capital raising, strategic alliances, divestitures and acquisitions focusing on the public and infrastructure sector. Prior to this Mr. Memon held positions as Investment Analyst with ESB and Associate with KPMG where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant. Mr. Memon also holds a BSc in Computer Applications from Dublin City University.
